In Loving Memory of William Frances Blake

Welcome to Lives Will Be Saved

In loving memory of Willy, we are a newly founded charity with a mission to support our community through Free Spirit, a vital service vessel. To bring her fully to life, we’re aiming to raise £60,000 to fund her two engines, affectionately named WILL and POWER. With your help, Free Spirit will soon be able to provide essential services to those who need them most.

Keep an eye out for our life jackets, coming soon! All profits from their sales will go directly to the charity, helping us save more lives together.

In memory of Willy, who tragically lost his life in a boating accident, we have founded lives Will Be saved to honour his adventurous spirit and lifelong love of the ocean. A local lad through and through, Willy was never happier than when he was out at sea. This charity is our way of protecting others who share that same passion and ensuring his legacy continues to make a difference.

Our Mission

Our goal is simple but vital: to raise awareness of the importance of wearing life jackets and to encourage safer practices on the water.

In partnership with Crew Saver, we have designed a life jacket in Willy’s memory. This life jacket is available to purchase directly from the Crew Saver website, with all profits donated to a cause close to Willy’s heart, our dedicated charity partner, Free Spirit.

Through this initiative, Willy’s name will live on in the lives saved and the families kept safe at sea.

Free Spirit - Embrace the Journey

Freedom at sea is an uplifting feeling.

Free Spirit helps coastal communities reconnect with the ocean through education, wellbeing, and discovery. By working with local partners, they create lasting opportunities and ensure the sea remains a vital part of community life. Willy was intending on volunteering with Free Spirit and in his memory, Kala will now step forward to take his place, ensuring that Willy’s passion and commitment live on through action.

This continuation of his journey means that Willy’s spirit remains at the heart of the charity, inspiring others to embrace the ocean safely and meaningfully.

Willy was loved by many and remembered for his warmth, laughter and love of adventure. He had a natural ability to bring people together and was happiest when sharing the joy of the sea with others.
